Michael's Story

Michael A. Noche is a Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at Highlands Academy of Arts and Design, North Highlands, California. Mike was born 28 June 1966 in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. He graduated from American High School, Fremont, California in 1984. After high school, he completed his Community College of the Air Force degree in Aerospace Physiology Technology in 1991. He then went on to graduate Cum Laude with a B.S. in Public Administration through the University of Laverne in 1993. He continued his education and completed an M.S. in Human Resources Management through Chapman University in 1995. Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) as an Aerospace Physiology Specialist on 15 November 84. He served as the NCOIC, Pressure Suit Support and Superintendent, High Flight Branch during his 12-year tour at Edwards AFB, California. Military schools completed include: Aerospace Physiology Specialist Course, NCO Leadership School, Academic Instructor School, Combat Survival School, Undergraduate Space and Missile Training, and Peacekeeper ICBM Initial Qualification Training. Major Noche was commissioned in the USAF through Officer Training School, Maxwell AFB, Alabama on 18 April 1997. Major Noche was then assigned to the 400th Missile Squadron, Francis E. From Warren he was assigned to the 392nd Training Squadron as a Peacekeeper Missile Instructor then Curriculum Developer and Space Operations Instructor. He was assigned to AFROTC Detachment 088, Sacramento, CA until his retirement. Major Noche proudly wears the Basic Space Badge, the Senior Medical Technician Badge and the Master Instructor Badge. His awards and decorations include 2007 AFA Teacher of the Year, the AFSPC Crewmember Excellence Award, 1993 USAF Aerospace Physiology NCO of the Year, 1993 AFMC Aerospace Physiology NCO of the Year, 1989 USAF Hospital NCO of the Year, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (3 oak leaf clusters), National Defense Service Medal (1 device), Air Force Recognition Ribbon, Combat Readiness Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Ribbon (5 oak leaf clusters), and the Air Force Training Ribbon (1 oak leaf cluster). Mike Noche is happily married to the former Traci McIntyre of Fresno, California for over 20 years. They are the proud parents of three children, Michelle-20 (who is an active duty airman stationed in Ramstein AB, Germany), Christian-17, and Jared-13.
