Michael's Story
Life
I retired from the Navy after 20 years and now live in Leesburg, Virginia.
School
Those four years of high school went by too fast. Before I had a chance to enjoy it, it was over and I was on my way to Boot Camp in San Antonio, Texas. I remember ditching geometry class one day only to run into my geometry teacher in the hall way later that same day. Although I did not take the SAT or ACT, I have finished my Associates degree which has taken almost 26 years to accomplish.

vy back in 1979. Boot Camp wasn't too bad, it was my first command after Boot Camp that was bad. My first command turned out to be the USS TARAWA LHA-1 out of San Diego. I worked for an E-8 who was straight out of the old school. I was still very immature and made some dumb mistake that he kept pulling me out of, thanks ABCS Eubanks. I also turned out to be very good at what I did and won several bets from an LT, not money but cokes, over how accurate a typist I was. It was a very interesting time in our nation's history. Even though I was not involved directly with them, I was ready to serve if needed.
