Michael's Story
Life
Feb. 1964- Joined Navy. Went to Great Lakes, Midway Island and Viet Nam. 1968- Out of Navy worked in L.A. area for six months. Moved to Salinas and went to Hartnell and finished High School. Married in 1969. Moved to Garden Grovein 1970. Went to work for Lucky Stores, went to Long Beach State College. 1974-Quit school and started playing trombone again. Son Daniel born 1973, son Nathan born 1975.1986-Divorced, moved to Newport Beach.1990-Married again. 1996 produced CD "Sounds of Newport".1998-Moved to Fountain Valley. 1999-Produced "Sounds of Love". 002 retired from Lucky's (Now owned by Albertson's) Now I just play trombone and lead my bands, "Balboa Brass" and "The Mike Sharp Trio". I'm also in the 300th Army Band since 1978. I'll probrably be getting out soon as I'm getting too old and fat. When I'm not playing I spend time on my sailboat with my wife Jo.
"2008 Update" -After six months of retirement in 2001 went to work with a friend and his wife and created a 20 foot electric boat called the "Lear 204" got it to market and it is selling in the US and Europe. Retired again in November 2007 and am having fun playing my horn and making water fountains out of old brass instruments.
