Michael's Story
The St Benedict days were bittersweet as my ancient mind recollects. My 3rd grade year was a disaster from which I never scholastically recovered. I think the year may have been 1958 or 59. The school couldn't keep teaching staff employed at this school. They didn't have enough nuns and resorted to lay teachers. In my 3rd grade year our class had 6 different teachers. None of them had consistent lessons plans, resulting in my failure to grasp key fundamentals between the change of teachers (all 6 of them). er by the name of Mrs. Rosier. She was from Eastern Europe somewhere and had a heavy dialect not easily understood. (Especially by a typical mind flitting third grader). At that time, I didn't know how to explain to my parents why I was having scholastic difficulties.
Although for me, school was very difficult after the 3rd grade, not because I wasn't smart, but because the building blocks from 3rd grade (very important) were never set in me.
I was wondering if any others remember this teacher (or 3rd grade with Mrs. Rosier), and experienced similar difficulties from St Benedict?
