Michael's Story
MY Life, I am once again single (divorced), shaping my life on my own, and enjoying life's treasures, my two kids who live in Austin with their Mom. Nate is 14, Ashley is 16. Soon they will be in college....Hope I'm done by then with my college career.
I have a Bachelor Degree from the University of Houston/Victoria in Chemical Process Technology and General Business. I operate crude oil distillation columns which make jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline for a major oil refinery in Houston. I enjoy fishing in the gulf, and bird hunting. I am a United States Navy Veteran of the U S Submarine Force and a crew member of the USS Gurnard (SSN-662), and served on the crew of the Guided Missile Destroyer, USS Lynde McCormick (DDG-8), as well as a Veteran Sergeant in the Military Police and Rapid Response Unit of the Texas Military Forces, Texas State Guard. I am pretty busy, but take lots of time to have fun on occasions. I have multiple certifications and am a qualified Firefighter, HAZMAT Specialist, and Medical First Responder in the Chemical and Petroleum industry. I go to Texas A&M Fire School every year for training and certification, But don't let that fool you...My blood is Burnt Orange, and I am a member of the University of Texas at Austin's student alumni associatio...Expand for more
n and Texas Ex's, although I did not finish my degree in Liturature there. I actually went on to Houston to graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Chemical Processing and Business, BUT Once a Longhorn, always a Longhorn. HOWDY, long time no see...
I always wanted to be a Lawyer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a terrible idea. As it turns out, they were right.
To blow off steam I like to drive around with the music turned up in my truck. Maybe Steely Dan, or Led Zeppelin...CRANK IT UP DUDE...
My current age is 50. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be boring. I was so completely wrong. What no one knows won't hurt them, right?
Career wise, I am taking graduate school classes for Industrial Technology from the University of Texas. I will have my Master's degree with another 10 classes.
I share my home with no one, which I find relaxing.
In 10 years, I hope to be a plant/corporate trainer for the oil industry. I'm going to get there by education and job knowledge.
My first job was at a Texaco gas station, where I got paid $1.35 per hour to wash cars. What I remember most about it is getting fired for NOT dating the boss's daughter.
One of my favorite memories growing up is going to my Grand Dad's fishing camp every Easter.
