Michael's Story
After graduation, I worked for the summer. In the fall I was supposed to leave for the Air Force but I hurt my knee playing football one weekend. I didn't leave until the end of January. I graduated from basic training on Friday, March 13 1998. I entered training to be a fighter jet mechanic on the F-15. After graduating from the six and a half month tech school, I was stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. I spent almost two years there. I got out in April of 2000 due to ....medical reasons. That summer was the first of many where I worked at a Boy Scout camp and have worked there for six summers. its field sports director for three summers, and its scoutcraft director for the one summer. While there, I ran the rifle and shotgun ranges and oversaw their archery range and fitness areas, worked in the trading post, and taught wilderness survival and how to use a compass and oversaw the camp's scoutcraft area. In 2001 I finally decided to start back to school at IUP. I was originally a fine arts major and finally graduated with honors as a history major in december of 2005. After graduating, I moved back home. I have since worked at Dick's and Lowe's. At Lowe's where I have been for the past two years, I have worked as a cashier, in lumber, and as an installed sales coordinator.
