Michael's Story
Life
I'm sure that most wouldn't remember me. With many regrets, I quit High School after my sophomore year and joined the Marines. Like a lot of teens, I thought I knew everything and my enlisting would bring meaning to my life. After 4 years in the Marines, the Corp. had a problem with my criminal lifestyle and 'booted' me out. After my discharge I went into business for myself. I started to make money and basically did ANYTHING that I wanted to. However, in short time, I found myself at the ripe old age of 22 empty and broken. I was flunking out at life. Seemed like nothing could stop my downward spiral. My criminal lifestyle caught up with me in late 1978 and the bottom fell out of my life. Then in February of 1979, Jesus Christ came into my life and saved me from my impending destruction. Even though Jesus was the last thing I was looking for, he saved me and gave me a new life that NOW has real and lasting meaning. Since that time, I have traveled the world teaching others about Christ. I married my wife Joy, in 1983. We just celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We live in Texas and I currently Pastor the Hegewisch Baptist C...Expand for more

Workplace
My work responsibility is very rewarding. I have the BEST job anyone could ever experience. I Pastor a church.
Even though I was a screw up in school, (it was my worst subject don't ya know) I always had a
deep desire to help those in need. However, I was never going to be able to reach out to others until I got help for myself first. That help came to me in February 1979 when Jesus Christ came into my life and dug me out of the pit I was in.
He delivered me from my criminal lifestyle and now I am able to help others. It is by God's matchless GRACE that he could take a worthless drug dealing/addict ($2000.00 a week in Coke, Heroin and EVERYTHING/ANYTHING else) and clean me up so that I could give GLORY to His Name.
Remember, God lives at the end of your rope. No Christ-No Peace, Know Christ-Know Peace! A couple of lines from two of my favorite songs are, "Reach out to Jesus because He is reaching
out to you." And, "my trophies and crowns, my robe stained with sin, was ALL that I had to lay at His (Jesus)feet, I'm so unworthy to eat from the table of Life, till His Love made provision for me."
