Michael's Story
Well, I can start by saying that I never imagined I would live my life the way I have. I will be turning 40 this year and I can truly say I have had some great experiences.
Although it took me a while (I took 2 years off in the middle) I graduated from Oakland University in 1993 with a B.A. in History. After undergrad, I attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA for a short time working on a Masters in African American Studies. That program did not work out and I eventually transferred to Kent State University in Kent, OH and obtained a M.Ed. in Educational Administration with a focus on higher education. I spent 2 years at the University of Maryland, 1 year at the University of Southern Mississippi, nearly five years at Old Dominion University and now currently a little over 4 years at West Virginia Wesleyan College. I am now trying to land a job closer to my home in MI though and hope to move again soon. I thoroughly enjoy what I do for a living and feel lucky to have discovered my calling.
I have a dog and a cat and that is as close as I have come to having my own children. I have plenty of nieces and nephews though for now.
I would love to hear from any folks from ol' Durand High School. It is great to hear what everyone out there is doing. Take care everyone.
