Michael's Story
Hello Class of '69 and anyone else interested,
Let's see... shall it be the long version or the short? After leaving those dreadful years at CHS, I attended Pharmacy School in Boston for a couple of years where as it turned out, the prescription drug business was of little interest to me. Having worked summers in the Tree Maintenance industry, I decided to try that full-time. It agreed with me and I worked as an Arborist for 10 years, during which I attended Quinnipiac University and got a B.S. in Accounting. That seemed to please me even less than Pharmacy, so after two years with a Public Accounting firm, I started a Tree Maintenance business in Cheshire, which I continued for 10 years, then sold it and moved my family to CA. Oh.... did I mention my family.... A very kind and loving wife and 3 wonderful sons, who have blessed me with 5 beautiful (and smart) granddaughters and ...Expand for more
1 (smartass) grandson. I lived in CA (LA area and SF Bay area) for 10 years working with a couple of international tree maintenance companies before finally moving back east to Cape Cod, where I've resided now for 10 years. Wow, that's 40 years.... just in time for the (big) reunion !! Well, so much for business life. I enjoy each day as best as possible and presumably in good health. I haven't kept up with too many CHS graduates but occasionally speak and get together with a few. I've retired from the Tree Business and work now performing in a lot of theater, some film (History Channel and PBS stuff), and regularly do outreach programs, where I teach elementary school children about 17th Century Colonial History for a MA based museum. I love it !!! Well, that's pretty much my story in the short version. I hope to see some of you at the 40th reunion next year.
