Michele's Story
I currently live in Decatur, Georgia with my wonderful husband of 44 years, Jim. We have 2 children, Christina and Wesley and 3 grandchildren, Lauren, Nyla and Justin.
Because Jim was career US Army, retiring as a Colonel in 1993, we had the advantage of living in many different states and Germany. We finally settled down in Georgia 25 years ago and our children call it "home".
Moving frequently made it a challenge to complete University but I graduated in 1979 with a BA. I later earned a MA and EDS. I began my career in education as a Speech/Language Pathologist later transitioning into elementary and middle grade education and finally ended my career as a Assistant Principal. I retired in 2007 and have been working ever since for Georgia State University as a parttime instructor in their department of Early Childhood Education.
My daughter, Christina, graduated from GSU with a teaching degree and earned an MA from Brenau University. She currently teaches Middle school, gifted education. Her husband, Bob is an engineer. She has one daughter Lauren, 16.

e and earned a MA from Western Iowa University in Industrial Management. He works for a local police department where he developed and manages their CSI unit. He has 2 children, Nyla 8 and Justin 4. His wife Angie has a homebased business.
Traveling is a passion and I have been very lucky to have traveled to the far corners of the earth. I am always ready for an adventure. In June I will be traveling with 2 friends to NYC and in July will be visiting Washington, DC with my sister.
In my spare time I belong to a book group, and love to do renovation projects in our townhome. I also spend time gardening, knitting, and collecting baby clothing that is shipped to the Sisters of Charity in Macedonia for the Roma women who come to have their babies at the local hospital.
I receive the LFA Alumnae News and marvel at the changes that have occurred since graduating. I can truly say that although I did not study as hard as I should have while at LFA I was very well prepared for University. I look forward to attending our next reunion.
