You probably all remember me as Larry Gates' girlfriend since we dated ALL through high school. One of our most memorable mishaps was following some dance in the late fall of 1978. Larry & I were embibing in some form of alcohol out in the back parking lot. I remember seeing Ed Wedell as he was running (stagerring) towards us from out on the football field and suddenly he disappeared having fallen down and unable to get up. We rushed out in fits of laughter and a snowball fight ensued. Craig Stahl & Mike Wujcik were also witnessing this hilarious event and joined in on the snowball throwing. Larry & I ran back to the car as they were throwing snowballs at us into his dad's car. Craig was standing by the opened door of his car and I told Larry to RAM him. Yes, I realized my stupidity the next sobering morning, but at the time it seemed like a great idea! Larry agreed and smashed into Craig's car door. Once wasn't enough, so he backed up and did it again! We thought it was hilarious and proceeded on with our evening leaving the HS parking lot and going to off to eat, probably at FEEB'S beef sandwich place on Main street where Larry ate more BBQ than even a southerner from Alabama could imagine! The next morning Larry's dad woke him up (much hungover) with a question of did he know anything about Craig Stalh's car getting hit, to which he of course replied "No". He told me later (after the hangover wore off) that he awakened to the sick realization of what he had done and admitted to his dad that yes, it was he who smashed Craig's car door....it wasn't long until our phone rang so that my parents could get an earful as well! The only other story that comes close to that one is when Janet Hadley (who was dating Carey Gates at the time) & I decided to bring some cold beer to the guys after football practice (cuz we were cool ya know) and got caught in the HS parking lot at their car by none other than Bud Mohns, the football coach, who hated us I am sure. After HIS phone call to my parents I was grounded for a whole summer! I even missed out on a family trip to California! I cannot to this day imagine what he said to them! Yes, Larry & I got married and have 2 gorgeous, successful, brilliant kids named Cole & Alexandria. We are no longer married, although we remain friends!
