Michele's Story
Life
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Southwest Texas State University, Michele moved to Seattle to work for Cinema Seattle, producers of the Seattle International Film Festival and the Women in Cinema Film Festival. Starting out as a publicity intern, Michele worked her way up to Associate Producer for SIFF's Fly Filmmaking Challenge, Filmmakers Forum Producer and finally, SIFF Festival Coordinator. During her six years with the organization, she also contributed articles to their quarterly newsletter, served on SIFF and WIC's programming committees, worked in various crew positions on independent films in the Seattle film community, and wrote film reviews for Amazon.com. iler, Westwind Computers. She also taught film to 7-14 year-olds at Paul AllenÂs Experience Music Project's Experience Art Camp.
Outside of Seattle, Michele has worked as Sponsorship and Development Manager for the Palm Springs International Film Festival and worked on the productions of "Man on the Moon," "Erin Brockovich," and "Caveman's Valentine" while managing Danny DeVito's Jersey Films office in Los Angeles.
In 2005, Michele returned to her hometown of Dallas, Texas as the Marketing Director for Media Projects, Inc., a documentary film production and distribution company. She is currently Associate Producer on Media Projects new film about depression and suicide in young people ages 15-24, and serves on the Board of Women in Film Dallas as Chair of Chick Flicks - WIF.Dallas' annual film festival.
