Michele's Story
Life
Since graduating from high school, I got a degree in journalism and German at Michigan State University, did some internships in Germany, then moved to New York in 1994. I worked as a copy editor at a newspaper group in Westchester County for a few years, then did my master's at Columbia University in international relations (specializing in conflict resolution and human rights). udson, about 30 miles north of New York City. We have a son, Adam (who turned 3 on September 21, 2005!), who loves dinosaurs, construction vehicles, and proving his parents wrong. I have been working for a small nonprofit called the American Council on Germany in NYC for about six years promoting transatlantic dialogue. (Yes, actually, I am aware that World War II is over! But there are many global challenges that transatlantic partners must consult and coordinate on if we are to give peace a chance.)
