Michelle's Story

Life In 1983 I got married and we ended up having three blond haired blue eyed girls. For those of you that know me, I have almost black hair and brown eyes, so was quite a shock! Our oldest daughter got married in July of 2006 and now has a little girl that is 4 and a ;little boy that is almost 2! The boy is the first in our family, so is quite an adventure. My Middle daughter is divorced, and has a girl that is 6 now, and in kindergarten. She looks almost exactly like her momma did!. I love all of my grandchildren very much and always look forward to seeing them! My youngest daughter still isn't married yet, but has a steady boyfriend, and lives with him about 2 hours away. My Husband and I have our own business installing ceramic tile in kitchens and floors and bathrooms. I am mostly just the secretary. We have been blessed with a good business as he is always busy! I still have some contact with some of my old friends, but haven't heard from too many. I enjoy hearing from them though! I do Have a facebook account, so look me up! We collect many different kinds of antiques. I love old rhinestones, and dolls. We like many other stuff too. I love to go mushroom hunting in the fall too, and know several different kind of mushrooms we can eat that aren't poisoness. Some are almost as good as morels! Last year it was so dry that there wasn't many mushrooms at all. We did bring some back from Michigan and I canned them to add to soups and spaghetti and other foods. We live on a small 3 acre farm, so we can have just about any kind of animals that we want. I love animals, so we have a variety! I have 12 or 13 peacocks now. I hatched some out over the past few years, and got mostly males, but did get a few females. I have three kinds now, Blue Shoulders, Black Shoulders, and pure white ones. My favorite are the black shoulders, they have black wing feathers that shine an iridescent indigo blue in the sun. I have several outdoor ponds, and a greenhouse that is built on the house and sunken into the ground some. I have two russian tortoises, a box turtle in the greenhouse. I also have a few tree frogs. by himself. I hear them now and again. It would be cool of they reproduced in one of the tanks in there! I guess I am a nature person! I love to be outside. We have quite a few hens again, and some roosters that need to be in the crockpot! I think I would like not having so many chickens. They eat a lot of bugs and lay eggs, but they get into my flowers and scratch everything up! Chicken soup anyone? This year will be our 32th wedding anniversary! The time has sure flown by! I don't think we have any special events planned. It is in December, so we can't do much around here then! My mom passed away on March 10th, 2008. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks before she died. She was real sick even before that, and was sick for quite a few years with Schlerederma. It is a horrible disease! I am still so sad. I miss her terribly. She was my best friend! For you who knew her, I thought I would put that in here so that you would know, since it is so hard to get hold of some of you.She has been gone for 7 years, but I still think of her everyday. I still think of things to ask her, and sometimes want to call her, but then remember real fast. I am sure you others that have lost a loved one knows how awful it feels, the aching in the pit of your stomach. We have gone salmon fishing now for almost every year since I wrote this. Some years we have good luck, and some not so good, This year was not so good at all. Between 6 of us, we only caught seven fish, one had to be let loose as it was almost dead already, and five I got, and one my husband got. There weren't too many in at all! We took the pontoons down the river, and really enjoyed that again! We have bought a small church with a small amount of land with it. I don't know what we will do with it yet, but I don't intend on tearing the church down. Maybe we should start an antique shop, or maybe a flea market place? I guess I just don't know what we will do with it yet. I am praying that if God helped us to buy it for a specific reason, that he will show us what to do with it. I still don't know what to do with it yet. Well, I am through rambling for now! See ya later!
