Michelle's Story
Life
I attended Mollington Primary from 66-67; Crougton AFB Elementary from 67-70; Beauvior Elementary in 70; Gorenflo Elementary in 70; CL Taitano Elementary from 70-71; & Yigo Elementary from 71-73; Pirmasen Jr. High from 73-76, and Zweibrueken High for my Soph year in 76-77...then moved stateside to Brandon High in Brandon, FL. Used to hang out mainly with Carol Russell, Michele Martin and Melanie Tanio ... and still keep in touch with some of my other buddies from those days.
Married since 1996 to Jim Ryan. Currently living in the Tampa area. Worked as an OR RN, locally, and as a Nurse Educator/Consultant, nationally - but currently dealing with some health issues and am disabled. Our daughter, Emily, was born in 1999. She was joined by a sister, Kristen who was born in 2002.
School
Won't spill on who my crush was ... my closest friends know ... and it's been a long, long time. I really wouldn't have known what to do with him if he ever even looked my way! :) I loved my time in Zweibrucken, although I made some great friends in Brandon. The closest friends I made while overseas, I still keep in touch with now. The craziest memories include all of the class/group trips we took while overseas. I recall doing a "stealth" James Bond-type escapade, when I stole "Val-o-grams" out of the Student Council office which were destined to be read aloud to my crush and the crush of a close friend ... unfortunately, these "notes" weren't authored by us!!!! It was wonderful trying to hide the smile when those that perpetrated this "crime" weren't allowed to re...Expand for more

College
College life was fun. I started out at USF in Tampa. My first foray out of High School involved running into high school buddies ... both from Florida and from overseas. Unfortunately, I went a little wild and wasn't serious about my studies. I took some time off, and then got serious and enrolled in Nursing School at HCC. I made wonderful friends, some of which I keep in touch with. I graduated with my RN and an ASN. Twenty years pass, and re-enroll in school. I attend UOP, online and Tampa campus. I obtain my BSN. It was hard to make friends with this type of program ... but it was satisfying to accomplish this goal. I graduated with honors and was invited into the National Nursing Honor Society: Sigma Theta Tau.
Workplace
My work history is varied. I worked everywhere until I got serious and began studying to be a nurse. I am writing about my "nurse" experiences, as they were varied and unbelievable at times. They can be found on my homepage. I made great friends while working ... and have been fortunate enough to keep in touch with many colleagues.
Military
I was never in the military, although I spent my life from birth to age 19 as a military "brat" dependant. Dad was stationed at High Wycombe AFB, England; March AFB, Riverside, CA; <<insert Vietnam stint here>>; Croughton AFB, England; Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS; Anderson AFB, Guam; Zweibruecken AFB, Germany; and retired out of MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL.
