Michelle's Story
Life
Life, huh? It's probably easiest to break this into States!
Minnesota: Initially went to college in SD, then came back to Rochester after running out of money (imagine that in college!) Kept on at RCC and then had to quit becasue of an illness that put me out for about 3 years. After much recovery, worked for Mayo for 6 yrs at Mayo Management Services. That's where I was when I attended the 10 yr reunion - if you would have told me where I would be 10 yrs from then, I would have asked what you were smokin'!
Arizona: Since the 10 yr reunion, moved to AZ in 1998 for a job with McKesson. While living in Phoenix, I met my husband, David, online(!!) and we will be married 5 years this coming September 7th. Dave has two sons and I am a very happy step-mom (or as I let the boys call me "Step-monster") The boys are now 14 (Grant) and 17 (Gareth).
Georgia: The kids' mom moved to GA in 2003, and we followed her to GA in 2004 to be near the boys - at that age they still needed their Dad in their lives. I left McKesson when we left AZ, and worke...Expand for more
d for a year with a company called IMPAC as a Behavioral Consultant and Project Auditor. Got to see some glamorous and not-so-glamorous places (an escalator plant in IL, chemical plant in NY, fiber plant in VA, and a car parts plant in Honduras) Decided that I missed being away from the field of healthcare - that's where all of my school and experience pointed to, anyway. Was very fortunate to be hired by a company called iHealth Technologies (we manage insurance companies' payment policy) and have been here now just under 3 years. I travel to Sacramento, CA and Des Moines, IA on a quarterly basis to visit my clients. We bought a house in December of 2005 in Cartersville, GA and while generally we didn't truly want to live in Georgia, our lives have been very blessed here and Dave and I are very happy. Once the kids get out of high school, though, I think we are headed to the Midwest to spend the rest of our years.
If you are coming down I-75 between Chattanooga and Atlanta, we're right off exit 290 - please let us know if you're coming that way!
