Mieke's Story
I was a teacher at Coontz and left in 1962 to teach in Germany. For those of you who may remember, I was called Anne, which was a shortening of my name, Annemarieke. Since then, I use my childhood name, Mieke (Meeka) most of the time now.
After teaching in Frankfurt, Germany for two years, I wandered back to Grand Rapids, Michig...Expand for more
an, then back to Seattle where I was a teacher and counselor for a number of years.
I started my own business years ago, and that sustained me until recently. Now, in my so-called retirement, I have done a great deal of writing, and my recent novel is The Apple Eater, based on my family's life in the Netherlands during World War II.
