I have not strayed far from the hallowed halls of Mendel and Chicago! After Mendel, I attended North Central College in Naperville for two years, then I went to Loyola University to study pre-med. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I ran into the wrong group of guys at Loyola and I ended up spending my time playing football on the Loyola Club Football team instead of studying. We did win the National Club Football Championship in 1971 and we played Duquesne University in Three Rivers Stadium and the University of Chicago at Soldier Field. It was a great experience. After I graduated in 1973 with a Political Science degree, I worked at Interlake Inc. in Riverdale while I attended DePaul University at night to earn my MBA. I moved into the world of international business in 1977 and ultimately became the Export Manager for Interlake Inc. In 1986, I was recruited by a company that makes those yellow barrels that you see in work zones and on the roads to shield rigid hazards to start their international department.
