Mike's Story
Life
By and large, I've been having myself a great life filled with adventure and fun.
One of my passions is travel and the last few years have been an exciting time for me. Celebrated Y2K in AMSTERDAM (if one is to be stranded with technology gone haywire, what better city is there to be stranded in ???), MALAYSIA, Singapore, and Korea (saw some real good friends of mine in Kuala Lumpur), 2000 Summer Olympics in SYDNEY (know some friends you showed me around Sydney), and earlier this year went to Germany and Austria. Just recently returned from a three week voyage of discovery in CHINA (October 2002). These trips do not include the many trips undertaken here in the U.S. All in all, in the last 20 plus years I have been fortunate to have seen over 50 countries.
Military
One of the strangest things done during the course of my life. After graduating from college, I joined the military for three years (1978-1981).

t, during my graduation ceremony while most people were receiving their diplomas, I was in boot camp under going rigid physical torture.
What could possibly lead to such a bizarre decision?? Two things (1) curiosity of wanting to see the world (2) a sense of needing discipline (I have always been such a free spirit that the military way of life, especially for three years, would be very difficult for me- it would test me in ways that I had never seen or experienced before).
You know what???? While it was very difficult, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Not only did I spend 31 months in Germany seeing just about all of what was called Western Europe back in those days during my scheduled military leaves but had some incredible experiences both good and bad. Met some people (Europeans & fellow partners in crime)who turned into life long friends.
