Mike's Story
I am living in a little town in north central Washington with my wife Beth.
After high school I went to the U of M for a bunch of years before going to work for the Montana Army National Guard. I spent about 10 years in Kalispell as the Training Technician and then as the Personnel Officer of the armor battalion headquartered there. I spent about 4 years in Helena where I served as the Personnel officer for a brigade sized unit with command and control over just about all the Army National Guard units in Montana. Next I went to Billings for about 2 1/2 years serving as the Officer-In-Charge of the artillery battalion headquartered there. My last 4 years I spent at Fort Sill, Oklahoma working with the development of a new weapon system called HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System).
I didn't get married until I was 45. It took me that long to met the love of my life and I am so glad I waited for her. Beth was an Air Force officer at the time and we met when she was transferred to Malmstrom AFB and I was serving in Helena. She has 3 adult kids and as of this past spring, we have our first grand baby, Erik.

rd in May of 2009 and was hired by Edward Jones as a Financial Advisor. Edward Jones is a great company, but I found out that I am just not a salesman and recently gave it up.
Beth retired from the Air Force about 2 years before my retirement and took the Chief Nursing Officer position at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. We both fell in love with Grand Junction when the hospital flew us both out for her interview. When we were first married, Beth lived in Great Falls and I lived in Billings. We were together in Oklahoma until her retirement and the job in Grand Junction. When I retired and we were able to live together again we had been married a little less than 6 years and had lived together 2 years out of that time. My joke was that we got married on a trial basis to see if we actually wanted to live together.
We are now both fully retired (sort of) and living in beautiful country, just 1 1/2 miles from the Canadian border. I say sort of retired because we sense a call to plant a church here in our little town. I taking off-line courses thru the Vineyard Association of Churches to become a pastor. Someone referred to it as a second adulthood!
