Mike's Story
I grew up in California. Went to Stower's Elementary school in Cerritos, CA. I played little league baseball for 4 years and my dad was the Cubmaster. My best friend was Wayne Wurzer.
I moved to Napa, CA at the end of six grade. I went to school at Brown's Valley Elementary, Ridgeview Jr. High School. and Napa high school (10-11th grade). I was on the tennis and wrestling team in the 7th grade. I was in Boy Scouts (we met at Brown's Valley) for a couple of years. My best friends in the neighborhood were Marty Morford and Mark Maehler (skate boarding) and Mike Mahoney.
I moved to VA Beach, VA in 1979. My senior year I went to Frank...Expand for more
W. Cox High School. It was very strange not knowing anyone my senior year. I tried out for the Basketball team but didn't make it so I played community league.
After graduation, I went to ODU for four years. I later moved to Charlotte, NC and finished school at UNC-Charlotte. I got a business degree in Finance and joined the Army for 4 years. I lived in Germany, Alabama and Tennessee/Kentucky.
I have been working for City Treasurer's in Virginia for the last 15 years. I now live in Chesapeake, VA with my wife Nancy and son, Marc (he is 6 yrs old).
I was working in Arlington when 9/11 happened and drove by Pentagon that morning.
