Mike's Story
Life
After graduation from the University of Kansas with a BA in Acting, minor in Radio,TV, and Film, I spent a year working a midnight-to-six shift at a radio station in Colorado Springs, and then spent 4 years working at the University of Oklahoma with Campus Crusade for Christ. I then spent 4 years at the International School of Theology in San Bernardino, CA, where I received a Master's degree while also working part-time with Associates in Media, i.e. the Hollywood Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, a non-profit Christian ministry to the entertainment industry, which I then directed for 9 years. I married Michelle Schutz in 1991, and we have 2 children, Angel and Eric. We moved back to Colorado in the fall of 2002 to help take care of my 81-yr-old mother,...Expand for more
and I spent 6 years working with cadets through the Chaplain's office at the Air Force Academy, and 5 years with combat veterans in the wounded warrior unit at Fort Carson. In 2013, we moved to Orlando, FL to work at Campus Crusade's international headquarters. I spent 3 years in the video production department, traveling to places like Ethiopia, Rwanda, Canada (Toronto), the Philippines, etc capturing stories of how God was working there, and then transferred over to the Writers' Team with Cru Storylines, a digital publication covering what Cru is doing in 190 countries. I've also spent 7 years doing prison ministry 2 days/week at a nearby state correctional facility. Very thankful for all the things I've gotten to do, and all the people I've been able to serve.
