Mike's Story
Life
Personal: Graduated from Colorado School of Mines with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Married Karen Fox from Wheatridge, Colorado on August 4, 1990. Karen went to the University of Denver for both her undergraduate and MBA degrees. I could never force myself into school after 5 gruelling years at Mines. We have two daughters. Victoria, who was born on April 23, 1999 at just 2 pounds, 1 ounce! She spent almost 12 weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit at Swedish Hospital in Englewood, but is doing great now. Ariel, born on February 6, 2001, came into the world on much better terms at 9 pounds, 3 ounces. We enjoy the outdoors, especially waterskiing in the summer. We are giving up on getting accustomed to life in Utah and are leaving to return to the Denver area very soon.
Professional: Started at OEA, Inc. in Colorado as...Expand for more
a Design Engineer and worked into a Plant Manager and Director of Manufacturing position in 1996. OEA manufactures explosive safety devices (such as airbag inflators, explosive bolts, canopy seperation for military aircraft, ...) for automotive and aerospace industries. Transferred to OEA's Utah facility in April 2000 to lead advanced product development. OEA was just recently required by Autoliv, the worlds largest automotive safety system supplier. I now travel alot to France, Germany and, unfortuneately, Detroit.
And yet another update..... moved back to Colorado and started our own business in the end of 2002. We are selling/installing slab granite countertops for residential and commercial applications and are really happy to be back home. Hope we can find out about the 20 year reunion and catch up with some long lost friends soon.
