Mike's Story
I left upstate NY in '78 via a job transfer to New Orleans with The Hartford Insurance Group. In 1980, I went on vacation to Colorado and fell in love with it. I was able to get a transfer with The Hartford and moved to Denver the same year. I met my wife, Sandy (married 28 years now) my first day in Denver after I moved. We had another job transfer in 82 to Des Moines, and another in '84 to Atlanta. We have lived in Atlanta ever sense. We have two kids. A...Expand for more
son who is a college Junior and Internet entrepreneur. He developed a very successful gaming Web site: themaddenlab.com. We also have a daughter who is a senior in high school applying to more colleges than I can track. We started a risk management services and consulting firm in 1998 and now have offices in Nashville and Greenville, SC as well. Business keeps me traveling, but love what I do. I still have extended family in the Upstate, but rarely get back.
