Mike's Story
Life
Although originally from Fulton, NY, my family moved to Ontario Canada after I finished the 7th grade. I started High School at Moira Secondary in Belleville, but went to G.Ray Bodley in Fulton for grade 10, before returning to Moira to complete high school.
I married right after high school to my high school sweetheart, and we have raised three children - two sons and a daughter. Our daughter gave us a darling Granddaughter almost 4 years ago, and I have the joy of being able to play with her everyday. Our oldest son and his wife of three years live nearby. Our youngest son and his Fiance live in Belleville and both have full time jobs in the field that they studied in college. Our daughter, her husband and daughter live with Kathy and I. We also have three cats and two Black Labs.
I have been a Police Officer for the past twenty three years, with my anniversary being in April. In January 2008, I switched over to join the Ontario Pro...Expand for more
vincial Police. I went directly in to the Intelligence Bureau and work in the Aboriginal Issues Unit. Plain clothes work covering Eastern Ontario. All is great in my new job! My wife and I make our home at Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, just east of Belleville Ontario.
I teach part time at Loyalist College in Belleville, teaching about the history and traditions of First Nations Peoples to the 2nd year Police Foundations students. I am currently in my fourth year of teaching this course.
To keep busy in sports, I umpire minor and mens baseball, I officiate High School Football in the Bay of Quinte area, and I have been a hockey referee for almost 30 years. I was the referee-in-chief for the Deseronto & District Minor Hockey Association for three years. I am just completing a year as Vice-president for Deseronto Minor Hockey.
