mike's Story

Base camp has been Tucson, AZ since 1986, but have worked and played all over the world since then. Still a serious bicycle rider (mountain biking is my core sport), but got heavy in to motorcycles (NOT Harleys) 25 years ago, including 2 pole positions at Daytona for National class championships in the mid 90's. These days I'm either on one of my BMW GS's exploring and camping off road from Mexico to British Columbia, or playing with a serious off road truck camper I just built up two years ago to haul the mountain bikes and kayaks to some cool places with my best friend and wife, Noel. Professionally, went back to school a few more times, bailed out of the corporate world in 1999 after running the manufacturing worldwide for a division of a Fortune 50 company, taught in grad school for 6 years, and spent 8 years on staff at a big church. Thru all of that I did selective consulting, primarily focused on coaching and long term development of CEO's and their leadership teams. That consulting activity has been my primar...Expand for more
y "career" since 2007. On the creative side, I got serious about my photography after becoming friends with one of the best shooters in the world (seriously) 7 years ago and his offering to mentor me. Two years of VERY hard work and I broke into the professional realm of photography. Just search for MikePhotos, the site is pretty active and should come up on the top of your search engine. Contact info is on the site if you want to say hi. The winter of 2012/13 I spent 3 months in a wheelchair after breaking my leg so badly the surgeon told me I would never walk again. I'll probably never be what most people would consider a "religious" guy, but I do have this crazy cool relationship with Jesus Christ, and I know His word well. The multiple miracles, not to mention the time in the wheelchair, were truly a gift. Today, I walk without a trace of a limp, and ride a single speed mountain bike with the 30 year olds.
