Mike's Story
Life
Well, let see. I guess I am getting to that stage of life where OLD GUYS RULE. You know the type; the older I get the better I was! Living in Carlsbad, California, about 4 blocks from the beach in my own condo with my cat named Quervo (she came with that name since she was a used or pre-owned cat). We've been together for 6 years, which makes her about 13 (yes, I know, I need a life). I am somewhat active in the city of Carlsbad as a Senior Citizen's Commissoner, volunteer for Citizen's Academy (happens twice a year), sit on the Community Block Grant Development Commission (lot of fun; give away HUD money to worthwhile organizations that have positive impacts in the lives of people who need it) and have done work with a program called City Stuff (3rd graders, ...Expand for more
pretty much my level, ya' know). Am a member of Carlbad Community Church, meet with a men's group on Tuesday A.M.
I am not working, and may go back to work in October/November, preferably part time. Been in the car business since 1973, basically as a service advisor, manager, dispatcher, that sort of stuff. Think I am somewhat burned out on that, and think I might like to work at Trader Joe's (looks like a fun place to work) Still haven't decided what I want to do when I grow up, but one of these days I'll figure it out.
Been divourced 20 years, and have two fine, grown sons in Eugene, Oregon, both in the glass business.
Basically, life is good, and God has blessed me hugely.
The pictures (now and then) are really quite acurate.
Sure wish this thing had spell check.
