Mike's Story

Life I moved to Eugene Oregon in 1983 where I still reside. I graduated from the University of Oregon (yes I'm a Duck - GO DUCKS) in 1988 with a BS in Geology and a minor in Chemistry. I'm a Registered Professional Geologist in Oregon and Washington. For 10 years, I worked in the mining industry throughout the west, and Alaska (6.5 years), and spent some time in mining camps in Argentina. I am currently employed as the senior environmental coordinator for a major wind energy company where I am responsible for permitting and environmental coordination for all of our wind farms and development projects west of the Mississippi and in Alaska and Hawaii. I spend a lot of time in airports. I enjoy college football (never,...Expand for more
ever miss a PAC 10 home game) and basketball, track and field. I love biking for exercise and you can find my cycling on the country roads around Eugene most Saturdays. I also enjoy home improvement and it seems like I'm constantly working on my house. I also enjoy traveling with my sweetheart. We just got back from two weeks in Paris and I actaully get to go to Hawaii for work. My Mom is in Spring Lake, NJ. My dad passed in 2004. I get back to the NJ/NYC area every few years. All of my family is doing really well. I live with my fiancé and have one dog and two cats. No kids (but, I’m still young – I guess). College Major Geology/Minor Chemistry - member U of O Alumni Association, Eugene is my home town, GO DUCKS
