Mike's Story
Hi All,
Dont know if anyone even reads this anymore :)
Briefly, I went in the Air Force after High School. Served in South Carolina for a bit and then went to the Philippines. Went to Desert storm and returned to have a volcano (Mt Pinatubo) erupt on me and lost everything.
Went back home to Chicago for a while and got my Airframe and Powerplant license and went into Aviation. Worked as a contractor for a while at various locations and eventually went to US Airways.
After 9/11 it sucked holding a job in Aviation. I had an opportunity to get out and start over. First, i tried to get into management in aviation and quickly found it was worst than politics. I earned my degree while working at O'hare as a line mechanic. While getting my degree i took on various jobs. I think i ran into a few of yo...Expand for more
u at some of them. I was a bouncer for a number of years downtown Chicago at the Vic and The store on Halsted and Armitage. However once i got my degree i went into management for US Airways at Philly international. What a freakin nightmare that was.
Fortunately i was contacted by this company i currently still work for called Vestas. Its a global company that builds, designs and service Wind Turbines. So the economy thankfully hasnt hit me very hard at all.
I am currently a Project Manager for Vestas and travel extensively. I think my passport is filled again and need to get a insert heh :)
Anyways, i currently live in Vancouver Washington and love it out here. I do go home now and then to visit as well but i really like it out this way. Always have :)
