Mike's Story

Life Retired MCI Worldcom engineer/manager. Widowed by Connie (Montgomery) Shaw of Nardin, Oklahoma. Father of seven, grandfather of 19, and great-grandfather of 21. Livin' large at Lake Texoma where I volunteer at the Red River RR Museum, Frontier Village, and the Republican Party. After leaving high school, I hitchhiked around the country before joining the United States Marine Corps. After that, my wanderlust was still not satisfied so I worked in the arctic (Canada and Greenland) and then tried my hand in the oil patch. I served in Viet Nam as a techn...Expand for more
ical representative to the U.S. Army Signal Corps before living in New York working for IBM and Washington, DC working for Vitro Laboratories. Then I went back to the arctic awhile (Greenland). I returned to the US to work as a field engineer for Data Transmission and MCI. During the Reagan administration, MCI sent me to Washington to serve as their representative to the National Communications System/Defense Communications Agency (NCS/DCA). I finished out my career at MCI as a senior engineer/manager at the MCI Engineering Laboratories at Richardson, Texas.
