Mike's Story
Workplace
I moved to California after graduation for a one year assignment with a Mortgage Broker.
After the year in CA, I came back to Medford and went to RCC for a year, working at Michael's as a custom picture framer.
Then I went to SOU for two years working towards a BS in Criminology, and I got hired as a Reserve Police Officer for Talent PD. A part time volunteer position.
That position led to a full time job in private security, which ultimately brought me to the Seattle area after I met my wife, got married and decided to pursue the opportunities in Washington.

update my skills, which helped land me an intern position with a Biotech company in Seattle, while I finished getting my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certificate.
Shortly thereafter, I started looking for a different position and found one at Microsoft, working as a contractor in their Premier Support organization.
After 10 months they hired me for a full time position in the same group I'd been contracting in. I spent four years there which started as the best work I'd ever done and ended up being the worst job I could imagine.
I left Microsoft in May 2005 and focused my energy on my consulting company, Sunfire Solutions LLC, which I had formed in late 2004 with a co-worker at Microsoft.
