Started as a Winn Dixie bagboy in high school in 1967 at store #229 in Hollywood (Lake Forest), FL. Became a stock clerk and Jr. Assist. Manager. Opened new Store #228 in Hallandale as Jr. Assist. Got produce training at store #289 in Miramar and #202 in Hollywood and became Produce Mgr. at store #229. Promoted to Assist. Mgr. at store #256 in N. Miami Beach. Opened new store #312 when #256 closed. Was Assist. Mgr. at stores #222 Carol City, #247 Norwood, #292 & new store #232 Opa Locka, #201 Hialeah and #215 N. Miami Beach. Moved to CA in 1981 and managed my mother-in-law's restaurant and bar in San Francisco until 1986.
Became a Police Officer with the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Police Dept. in 1986. Before I retired I was an FTO/Hostage Negotiator in the Patrol Division working out of the Concord, CA sub-station. Past assignments included: Special Problems Unit, Special Patrol Operations Team, Joint Task Force with FBI/IRS White Collar Crime Squad, Patrol Rifle Operator. On November 30, 2007 I retired after more than 21 years service. My wife, Marilyn, and I are now enjoying our retirement and SEVEN grand children and one great grand daughter and three great grand sons.
