Mike's Story
Life
Wow, where has the time gone? I am 48 today (June 18th) and have the day off. So, I decided to take some time and write a short bio. Where to start?
After high school I went to work offshore in Louisiana and Texas for a couple of years before going to college where I was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. After one year, I dropped out of college (too much partying; not enough studying) and went to work with the Eufaula Police Department. I left the PD after seven years (82-89) with the rank of sergeant and returned to college. I graduated magna cum laude from Troy State in 1992 and was accepted to Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham. I attended Cumberland for 2 years and transferred to Thomas Goode Jones School of Law (Reason I transferred? Long story - I went through a divorce). After graduation from law school I passed the bar exam and began my law practice in Eufaula. From there I went to Troy and was in practice for a couple of years. I am now working for the law firm of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis, & Miles, P. C. in Montgomery as a litigation specialist (I handle litigation preparation for the trial attorneys and assist them at trial). I work in the Mass Torts Section where we handle cases involving pharmaceutical companies nationwide, so I get to travel some. I was in New York for a week back in December (my first time there) and really enjoyed it. While there, we stayed at a hotel in Times Square and worked out of a law office in lower Manhattan, just 2 blocks from the World Trade Center site and just across the street from DelmonicoÂs Restaurant (no I did not eat there, it was too expensive).
I am currently divorced, have two children (Mikey - 24 and Clayton - 9) and one grandchild, Aydan (11 months). Mikey (John Michael Woodham, Jr.) lives in Knoxville with his wife, Ashley, and their son Aydan. Clayton lives in Enterprise with his mom and his step-father who is an attorney there.
Not much else to report. I stay bus...Expand for more
y with work and do not have much free time. I play a little golf when I can and spend time with Clayton as much as possible. I also travel to Knoxville as often as I can to visit Mikey and Aydan. I still enjoy fishing but do not get to go as much as I would like. Over the years, I have remained in touch with Clif, Doug and, of course, Elfreida (Fred) from our class. Clif is practicing law in Troy and Doug is a medical sales rep in Pensacola. Fred is teaching in Eufaula.

Some Memories from High School...
*Friday Night Football - The Geneva game Senior year and the last minute goal line touchdown for the win - exhuasted but exstatic.
*Two a days in August with Coach Cochran.
*The pre-game meals at the Holiday Inn and then on the Greyhound bus for out of town games.
*Saturday nights at Lee's Drive-In and parking at Old Creek Town Park.
*Jack's '57 Chevrolet, Clif's Dodge R/T with those huge stereo speakers in the back seat, Charlie's Torino and Bubba's Camero. My LeMans, my old Chevy station wagon with the 327 4bbl and the "____ Brindle Yellow" 4 door '57 Chevy Sedan I had.
*The trips to "Nichols Alley" in Columbus on Wednesday Night - 6 of us packed into Bubba's Camero made the trip.
*Skipping school and spending the day at Creek Town and eating "loaf bread" b/c that's all Charlie had.
*Panama City for Spring Break - no further comment necessary.
*Playing pool almost every night in Georgetown in the shed behind Jack's grandmother's house with Charlie, Bubba, Jeff, Jack and Clif.
*A case of PBR for less than 4 bucks and gas was 50 cents a gallon.
*The "get togethers" at Jack's house, parties at Charlies when his folks were out of town (all that drama), Parties at Clif's when his folks were out of town and the party at my house when my folks were out of town (the miniatures from the bar and the lime kool-aid mixer - why? b/c that was all we had)
*Powder Puff - Undefeated.
What else? I'll have to think about it.
