Miriam's Story

Life Personal: I have two children, Leah and Jacob Robbins, and a stepdaughter, Joliene Dexter. I have been married for 26 years to Gregory Dexter. (He is a retired mechanical engineer) My hobbies are music (piano, harp), yoga, and foreign languages (ancient and modern). I love traveling to foreign countries, visiting ancient archaeological sites and archaeological museums. I love reading -- corny romantic novels, new age spirituality, ancient texts. Professional: I hold a B.A. in Classics and a Ph.D. in Indo-European Studies (comparative l...Expand for more
inguistics, ancient Indo-European languages, archaeology, and comparative mythology), both from UCLA. I teach courses in comparative mythology; I've written a few books and a number of journal and encyclopedia articles. For thirteen years, I taught courses in Latin, Greek, and Sanskrit language and literature in the department of Classics at the University of Southern California. For the past fourteen years, I've taught at UCLA, for the Women's Studies and Honors programs. It was really wonderful to see so many old friends at the 50th reunion.
