Misty's Story
Life
I've been married to my husband, Keith, since 2 weeks after graduation. Found out 3 weeks later that we were expecting. Our first child was born in March 1993 (wow...15!). Our second child was born in August 1997. We decided to homeschool our children and have done so from the beginning, with a short experience with public school when my oldest daughter went for the last half of her 4th grade year. She is now in high school (homeschool style, of course!), with 4 A's and 1 B. How does time fly by that fast! It seems that I just left high school not so long ago!!
My husband is going to school to be a Radiology Tech, and I finished a certificate for Medical Transcription not long ago. We've learned the hard way that school should be done before starting ...Expand for more
a family! I do think you appreciate it more when you're older. I started a full-time job in March of 2008 and am still homeschooling my children. It's very challenging, but we are adjusting to our new schedule. I had to start working because my husband quit his job around the beginning of July 2008 to start the Rad Tech program at West Central. All of his classes are in the morning, so he will have to find a part-time job while he finishes school.
We've gone to our church, Trinity Chapel Church of God, for over 8 years and love it. We are very involved at this church. For the most part, our life is pretty normal. Married, 2 kids, 2 cats, 2 cars, neighborhood with great neighbors, healthy, happy...what else could we want (besides graduating from college)!
