Mitchell's Story
Life
Hey people, good to see that someone looked here. Ok here it is. My life is quite different than the way I knew it on the penninsula. I moved to Nevada in 1994. I've had my ups & downs for a little awhile like everyone else but I am married now, just over four years.
I have two children, my son is seven, and my daughter is two, plus I have another one on the way. I have a '02 Neon to get back and forth. I spend most of my time with my family. The other part of my time I work in an underground gold mine. I don't ever party. Can you believe it? I don't do drugs, only drink on rare occasions, and I don't even smoke cigarettes. Boring huh? Oh well that's life. Oh I still have long hair though (down to my ass!) that will never change. Well, that about sums it up.
School
I don't really have much to tell about school. I quit early from Ilwaco and later went to home school after leaving Washington. No college for me. Looking back I wish I stayed in school so I could have graduated with all of you instead of sitting in my house recieving my educati...Expand for more
on. I do remember the advice that some of you gave me. It just took awhile for me to wake up and realize what you were saying. Thanks to my friends and everyone in my class you all have influenced and made an impact in my life. Thanks.

Workplace
When I finished with school I started working full-time at Pizza Hut as a delivery driver for over a year. I then worked at the local potato plant doing construction. I needed more of a challenge so I began working on an exploration drill rig, mostly looking for gold. I did that for about 3 years. Next I worked in one of Nevadas gold mines underground for about 6 months until a major layoff of 1999. I turned back to drilling for awhile until life on the road became too much for family life, I settled for a job in a production plant making large diameter pvc pipe for 2 1/2 years. Now I am working back underground in the Turquoise Ridge mine shaft at Getchell Gold Co. as a miner. No I can't take any gold home but the gold in the ring you have on your finger just may have come from this mine.
