Mitzi's Story
Life
I am currently an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. I graduated from Kennedy King College in 2008 with my AAS in Addictions and transferred to Governors State University working on BSW. I have one son, and one grandson and grand-daughter. I have been sober for a minimum of 15 years, I am an avid AA member. I have been in contact with a few of my old classmates. .
School
Hawthorne Jr. High, I remember us going to Great America for our graduation trip. I remember playing king of the hill in the winter with the boys. Me and Patti Goeb. I remember bike riding to Thatchers woods and going swimming at Ridgeland Commons. Lindblom Tech, I remember going to the school parties that the clubs gave, like Debonaire and The Family. I remember going to the dances at the Underground.
College

am cureently enrolled in Governor State University. I have graduated with my Associate's Degree in the Applied Science of Addictions Studies. I have my CADC and I am currently studying for my CSADC which is national. I am now going to school to get my bachelors degree in Social Work.
Workplace
I currently work at a facility called, E/Emages, Inc. It is located in the Chatham-Avalon Medical Clinic on 79th street and Indiana. I am a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I also work with DUI's and Sex Offenders. I plan to open my own facility in the future. I have worked at Haymarket Center, HRDI, and TASC.
Military
I do not have a military background, but my son does. He was in the U. S. Air Force for 3 and a half years. He was stationed over in Korea. He came home shortly before his son was born.
