Moira's Story
After high school I did a few different jobs while continuing my higher education. I sold Birkenstocks, worked for an insurance company, then for a software company. I traveled to Ireland a couple of times and Great Britain. I married in 2002, seperated in 2005, and divorced in 2008. I got married for the wrong reasons and divorced for the right ones. The I adoption of my beautiful son was finalized in 2007. I work for a nonprofit organization providing services to children in foster care. at I do and can't imagine not working in the social work field.
In school I was defintely not one of the popular kids. Which I realize now has made me who I am today and I'm quite pleased with who I am. I was extremely introverted and fearful of everything and I carried that with me until I was in my early thirties. It started to change when I was 25 and my youngest sister was killed in a car wreck shortly before her 19th birthday. I realized I was wasting my life being afraid of life and slowly started to change that. The first big step I took was taking a "self drive" tour of Ireland by myself. And today I am a single parent and feeling great!
