Monica's Story
Life
I joined the Air Force as a weather forecaster, in October of 2000. My first assignment was to Germany. I got to travel all over Europe and I met my husband, Bill Cox. It's just coincidental that he graduated from Deer Valley in 2000. We're stationed in South Carolina, now. We are moving to our next base in November--Rapid City, South Dakota!!! I am not looking forward to the cold weather. Bill has been deployed 9 months out of the 12 we've been in SC, so SD will be better as far as that goes. School
After high school, I, reluctantly, joined the military. I don't regret it, though. I am able to go to college with 100% tuition paid by the Air Force. Because of my career field, it is only now that I am able to start college. I start at University of South Carolina in October '03.
Military
Well, I joined the AF in Oct 2000. Basic was a joke. I'm a meteorologist now. My first assignment was Sembach, Germany and now my husband and I are stationed at Shaw AFB, SC. Woohoo!
