Monica's Story
For those of you who knew us in the military, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Gary Lytle and I have been married for almost 18 years. We have moved back home (for me) to Meade County Kentucky and actually live less than a mile from my mom's house. For those of you who have been out of contact for longer, here's the scoop:
Went to Centre College from MCHS; hated it. Went to ECC and got my associate degree, then on to WKU for a BA in Communications (Broadcasting) and Speech.
Married Robert Spalding, joined the Navy, went to Norfolk and had a son, Abraham (now 25, married with a son, Joshua almost 4). Divorced.
Married Kevin Pettit, had Ian (now 23 and graduating from WKU with a BS in Architecture in May 2009) and Megan (now 21 and graduating from EKU in December 2009 with a BA in PR). Divorced.
Left the Navy and moved to Ohio. Married Gary Lytle FINALLY in June 1991. We have a son, David (19 and attend...Expand for more

In '05 I went back to school, Campbellsville University, and got my MASE (Master of Arts in Special Ed); finished in '07. Then went to WKU and got my Rank I in Gifted Education.
Life is good. Empty nest isn't so bad after busy years of band, scouts, soccer, academic teams, and swim. Loved raising the kids, and love seeing them as successful adults! {And love playing with the grandson - he calls us Jammers (me) and Jumpers (Gary). He's the spitting image of his dad!}
Erma Bombeck once said that she had always feared becoming her mother; then she did and found it wasn't so bad. Some days I feel that way.
I teach Special Education at Payneville Elementary. I love my job and feel like I make a difference in children (and parents) lives.
Gary and I are enjoying life. He's active in volunteer firefighting. I'm an active couch potato (just ask me about my private shame - Desperate Housewives)!!
