I started grade school at Macomb, from there I went to Goodale and then to Denby til the last semester when my mom moved us to the West side, I graduated from Redford High in 1977. My mom married my step dad when I was 3 and he had 6 kids, my mom had three and they had Chas together. The kids that were close to my age were Sandy Hurn, Tommy Brown, (both older than me), Sherry Hurn is my little sister. The rest are Chas, Steve, Mike, Bobby (the one we just lost), Donna and Suzy. We lived on Venice on the other side of Connor in a little neighborhood that was mostly black and we were really poor. I was teased alot because my hair was hardly ever brushed because we had one hairbrush and I could never find it. Man I was happy to get my first babysitting job, it was the first thing I bought and I hid it so I would be the only one to use it. I spent most of my walk to school running my fingers through my hair just to get the knots out and was never very successful.
