Monique's Story
Life
Winnipeg has always been home base. I plan to keep it that way. It's allowed me to travel a lot - I've been to all the provinces, except Newfoundland and the 3 Territories. I plan to change that soon. I've been to a number of the American states and lived temporarily in Belgium and Costa Rica. Technology is allowing me to continue travelling - my internet based business allows me to continue working wherever I roam!
School
Because of the language issue in this province I was moved schools more often than I liked (I actually went to one school for two whole days before they moved my grade to another school for political reasons. I started off in at Marion because it was the neighbourhood school. I was moved off to Provencher because they closed St. Joseph's and reorganised the schools in the area. College
University of Winnipeg was great! Many think of it as just a big high school. So what! I spent more hours in and around U of W with friends I made there than I did anywhere else. The library was a favorite hiding spot (it was such a secret, anybody who was looking for me knew I'd likely be napping in a carrel near a window in the sun! -if they couldn't find me in the French lounge!)
Workplace
I have several income streams, but the one that excites is owning my own company. I am involved with a group of sharp business associates who can help those who are willing to put in the time and effort to create supplemental income and maybe eventually replace their current income /job. Retirement is not a dream, but the freedom of owning your own business with unlimited income potential can make any dream come true!
