Apryl's Story
Life
Hey All!! Where to start!! Since 1970, I have lived in Idaho, Florida, New Mexico and Utah as well as Calgary, Lethbridge and now Edmonton. My husband, Bruce, and I have 8 kids between us, all grown and gone, and now we have 8 Grandchildren and one on the way!! Grandkids truly are worth having kids!!
I am a Property Manager here in Edmonton which keeps me extremely busy since I handle 9 condominium complexes with over 400 units in all. I am also President of my Scottish Clan, Clan Cameron, for all of Western Canada - Manitoba west and I really have a blast in the summer going to all the Highland Games.
I have two dogs, Gyzmo and Barkly, who are Maltese/Shitsu and are my babies now that the kids are all gone!
I have been writing poetry for about 32 years and have numerous poems published. I have also been awarded an "Editor's Choice Award for Excellence in Poetry" four times. Occasionally I write lyrics and then pass them off to my husband to come up with...Expand for more

As for hobbies, well, on the rare occasion that I have the time, I make faerie crowns for my granddaughters and a baby quilt for each new wee one that joins our family. I also make kilts which is very time consuming but rewarding. I love to do Scottish Country Dancing whenever I can. I used to belong to a dance troupe in Salt Lake City called Heather Broch and it was the best!!! Bruce isn't much for Highland Games and refuses to wear the kilt I made him just after we were married but he's a good sport about being married to a "Scot" just the same.
Whenever Bruce is home (he's a Journeyman Carpenter and works in Ft. McMurray), we really enjoy attending and performing at open stages around the city. I travel to Calgary every November to participate in "Handel's Messiah" but so far I haven't convinced my sweet husband to attempt the score with me!!
