Nadine's Story
I graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1959. I was enrolled in the Commercial Art program at the technical high school for two maybe three years. My only claim to fame in school was co-chairing and designing the program for one of the school dances. While in school, I worked nights and weekends at the Vista Theater on Central Ave downtown. (remember reserved seats for the movie South Pacific) I watched that movie so many times I could recite all the lines. I wonder if the theater is still there after all this time. After graduation I worked for a bank in Phoenix for 3 years. A friend I met while at the bank and I gave our two weeks notice and left Phoenix for the 'call' of California. I never looked back! les. I still live in the same area, now divorced. I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren (one from each child) that I so enjoy. I worked in a private elementary school in Los Angeles when raising my family. I am now a Notary Public and Loan Document Signer. I am happy and healthy and ready to play!
I am clearing out my storage, going through boxes long packed away. I spent last evening browsing through the Phoenix Union year books found there in. I realized I do remember some of these faces and names. As I read the comments written in my year books I found that the "you are such a sweet person, stay that way." and "I had so much fun being in class with you" were themes repeated throughout. I remember me as 'fun', I don't remember 'sweet'!!
Possible I will be remembered by you, too. Nadine
