College
To start off I wouldnt exactly speak too well on the food I experienced eating in college since the majority of what was served was pretty gross. My first 2 years in college was spent in Iowa so I called their cafeteria the science lab since one day I was actually getting a turkey sandwich with a salad and macaroni and cheese until I heard a professor call out to someone in the kitchen about something at the hot bar and he referred to it as 'mystery meat' and it's when I got back to Chicago and began school at Barat College did 'mystery meat' take on a whole new meaning because the food would be even worse if there were days people didnt spend a chunk of change eating out because half the menu was just stuff most folks wouldnt even lay a finger on. My roomates were special since I had 7 of them over a course of 2 years since they were moving out because they got apartments off campus or they wanted to share a room with their friends. I had a unique bunch since one roomate was an obsessive compulsive(think of Monk and she's the female version of him),the other one was a PK(preacher's kid) so I was living with a perpetual bible beater since she would force feed everyone to listen to contemporary gospel music all day long when she was in the room, and the other one was just plain silly since she was the one person I could clearly remember walking in my room with a couple friends and ended up catching her in...Expand for more
the middle of having sex.It was so loud that my guy friends who came over would wonder if she was watching a movie where cows were in a particular scene and even my neighbors from down the hall could hear her. I was pretty much the only normal one in the bunch, but it was rather interesting so to speak. I didnt take on any roomates when I got to Barat College in the fall of 2001 just weeks before 9/11 had hit and I demanded a single because I couldnt take living with anyone anymore and wanted my own space and I got one which was awesome it was room 381 in Merrill and it's previous occupant was Katie Springer(daughter of crappolla talk show host Jerry Springer). Later I got into room 315 and then became an RA during Barat's final academic year since Depaul University closed the school on June 30th 2 weeks after I graduated. I look back at most of what I dealt with and learned that I had to have a tough exterior to get beyond some of the things I've seen in school. Some of that tough exterior was present when I was in school at Cove which wasnt against any of the fellow students I know, but I was going through a rough patch at that time and when you're trying to deal with so many changes it's hard when people don't understand you. I took what I learned in high school and managed to get out of college with it along with all the people that have helped me along to be a better person before during and after college.
