Nancy's Story
Life
My Spouse
We went to school together from junior high school to college. We will celebrated our 51tst anniversary in June.
My Pets
We rescued a little Bichon, Layla, from the humane society in four years ago. She is twelve years old, but still feisty as the day we brought her home. I would bring ten more home if Steve and Layla wouldn't disown me.
My Kids
We have two sons, Ryan, 48, and Michael, 45. Both are very musical, and were in Drum and Bugle corps for several years. They are the joy of my life. Ryan lives in North Carolina, and Michael is a middle school/high school band and orchestra director in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Michael is divorced and the father of our two beautiful granddaughters, Gracelyn, born in 2008 and Annabelle, born in 2012.
My Job
I taught in a gifted program ...Expand for more
for 28 years in Casa Grande. I also taught a district advanced math class of 5th and 6th graders, and taught pre-algebra for two years. I retired May 2005 after 35 years of teaching. I worked half time as a Math Education Specialist for the Pinal County Education Service Agency for four years, but retired (again) in 2009. My husband, Steve, retired the same time I did, but after a year of doing things around the house, took a job as a Technology Integration Specialist with the same county office as myself. We are both retired now. We enjoy traveling and visiting our kids and granddaughters. I keep busy with my teacher sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa. I also volunteer three days a week at our local humane society, taking care of little dogs. It's my therapy.
