Nancy's Story
Life so far¿that is a lot to write about¿So this is January 1 2010
Well after high school tried Nursing School both at JC and USM but I just really wanted to have some fun¿while at USM got an apartment with a friend and got my first real taste of freedom¿the only thing I am going to say about that is I had sown my wild oats by the time I met my husband Andy Beeson¿let me take that back, we started out as friends and did do a good bit of ¿partying¿ together. We met while I was in school in Jackson at UMC, Respiratory Therapy this time...Just couldn¿t hang with all that sputum¿sorry about the graphics but it was true at the time. Stayed around Jackson a few years but came home to Laurel and decided to give Nursing school another try. Andy and I reconnected and married my first year of nursing school and 25 years later we are still together. Finally finished nursing school and For the last 21 years I have done home health. In 1993 we adopted a beautiful little 2 year old girl from Central America. Her name was Sonia and for the next 12 wonderful years I was her ¿Mom¿¿but in 2005 just before her 14th bir...Expand for more
thday she died¿and so with her a part of me¿but life goes on. Now it is me, Andy and fur babies, a Chihuahua name Layla and a Pom named Coco a sugarglider we appropriately name Shug and a cat named Sil. We live just South of Tuckers Crossing in the woods. We spend most of our time just chillin by the Lake¿Like to travel a little, surf the net, craft a little and of course I love to shop (is that really considered a pass time??)
Nursing has been a real adventure. While I don't do hands on nursing anymore I do manage a staff of about 30. The company I work for is one of the largest and most technically advanced in the country¿Keeps me motivated¿ I have always needed that.
Right now Andy and I have an exchange student from South Korea named Kim, he is 15. It has been fun to have a teenager around again. Along with him comes his group of students from all over the world. It has been a long time since I have met a group of teenagers I found really interesting. May have to keep doing this, it is a simple way to impact the world without ever leaving home.
Life in a nutshell¿guess it wasn¿t that much after all.
