Annie (Ex-Nancy)'s Story

Life I changed my first name from Nancy to Annie in Aug. of 97 because I DESPISE the name Nancy! Ann was my middle name.(Sorry Nancy Tuggle, Nancy Moews & all the Nancy's in our school!) Now I'm changing it to Danica Lynnae Danner, as my mom is Ann. She's not a happy camper about the Annie and mom and dad are mad I dropped the Nancy! I had rhuematic fever in Princeton, Ill. as a child. Another girl, Danica Taylor had it also and we had the same tutor. I always LOVED her name and wanted to name a daughter Danica Lynnae. I never was blessed to have a daughter. So, I'm taking on the name I dearly LOVE! I work in a factory, started there Aug. 6, 1997. I'm blessed to have 3 sons living, I have 4 sons deceased, 7 grandchildren with #8 on the way around Nov. 12th. I have five grandsons and two granddaughters. FINALLY GOT MY GIRLS! This new baby is projected to be a girl as I did the Crystal Drano Test on daughter-in-law. NO YOU DON'T DRINK IT! You mix 1 T Crystal drano & 1 T First morining urine in a glass. Do NOT use Liquid Drano as it won't work. Brown~Boy, Green~Girl! The brown is a muddy river brown shade. Lime green or black with a bluish/green ring around edge of glass. Needless to say, they had the ultrasound, GIRL!!!! Her name is Lily Marglen Olson. LOL! I'm enjoying singing at karaoke, singing in singsnap.com under screen name danicalynnae, and weddings/funerals, although sad at the funerals! I love to still play volleyball and mud volleyball, ice skating. Love watching soccer. Please come home for our reunions!!!! I'd love to see you! Drop me an Email! I've reconnected with MANY friends from my past! Thank GOD for the computer! School I started kindergarten in 1959-1960 at Lincoln Grade School in Princeton, Ill. Princeton will ALWAYS be my hometown to me. I was in Princeton until the middle of second grade when my dads job transferred him. I attended Centennial Grade School 62-65, we moved about three blocks when my parents built a new house and that threw me into a new school district. I went to Jefferson Grade School in 6th grade, then to B.J.H.S, then onto B.H.S. and graduated at 8:00 P.M. 6/6/73! THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SECOND INDEPENDENCE DAY! The only classes I enjoyed was Mr. Connolly's Speech classes and his Drama Team! Steve Brienen & Larry Connolly, Steve Pavlik & Mary Munson were my mentors. Let's not forget lunch with Gene Garrett as lunchroom supervisor where he'd fall asleep, STANDING UP! Wonder if HE had Mr. Ruddy also?! {And study hall, where we could nap! :)} AND MR. RUDDYS AMERICAN LITERATURE CLASS WHERE HE BORED US TO TEARS! That afternoon dismissal bell was HEAVEN! I had to wait a year to start school because my birthday fell after the December 1st cutoff. My birthday is Dec. 30th. HORRIBLE DATE! Never could bring treats to school ON my birthday because we were always off for Christmas holiday. Mara Gross and I were born the same day and John Curtis the day after. A few years ago, I wanted to do something FUN, DARING, DIFFERENT for my birthday. I wanted to have a TOGA PARTY. I invited 150 people for it & THEIR friends at Shooter's Lounge! They were ALL GUN HO for it! You know how many turned out for it?! The BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!! They all wanted to go out the "NEXT NIGHT"! WHAT A LETDOWN! I despise competing with New Year's Eve! I STILL feel like Sally Rogers from "The Dick Van Dyke Show"! Couldn't get a date in school or now! In school I always wanted to date the older guys because I WAS their age. Mom & dad seemed to forget that I was one of the older kids in my class because of having to wait that year. They didn't like ...Expand for more
it much. Now that I'm older I like younger ones! I never had a date for Homecoming. My only salvation was taking Drivers Ed. early!!!! ;) That 1970 red convertible VW sure put the miles on it running through the gag and up to Lake Bloomington picnics with KFC & friends. That license REALLY gave mom and dad gray hair! LOL! No, their hair is still blonde! High school seems so long ago. Some memories seem like yesterday. I felt awkward and that I didn't fit into any cliques or that I belonged in the Class of 73. Maybe because I was older in all actuality. Workplace I'm employed with Cintas, the best uniform rental company there is! Along with uniform rental, we rent floor mats, towels and aprons, bathroom ammenities. Wash, dry, pressing. We have the COOLEST no touch cleaning machine that cleans your tile restroom and the grout becomes snow white! It's AWESOME! Then another wand dries it all! Our management team is wonderful to work with and employees get along well. August 6, 1997 is my hiring date with the company. Last year I chose a smoker grill for my 10 year anniversary gift. Can't wait to try it out this year! ;) I always wanted to be a beauty operator when I grew up, since age 3. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong, I wasn't happy in the shop. Although, I enjoy it on my own time for friends & have done it in funeral homes! I went through the Area Vocational Center & took Cosmetology at the now defunct University Beauty School which was above the now equally defunct Miller Music on N. Main St. I was a licensed cosmetologist when I received my diploma from B.H.S. To blow off steam I take myself to a time out by taking a walk and thinking. Enjoy craft projects. Favorite way to relax is to sing at karaoke. Ice skating, even though I haven't done it in a LONG time! Spend time with grandkids. The wildest thing I ever did in high school, I think it'd have to be with Denise Madden, Jeanne Alsman and I were in my moms 1970 red convertible VW. We'd been drinking and I was driving the gag. We were talking to three boys we knew and liked as friends & they wanted us to ride around with them for a little while. We parked moms car in back of Harjack's in the back row. We all had to take a nature call and I was SO drunk while nature calling, I lost my balance and fell in a ROSE BUSH! The funny thing was that the boys pulled in and the headlights were on us! I hope friends will remember me as a true friend and someone with a good heart and would be there when they needed me to be, and even when they didn't! ;) I hope I'm remembered as someone who loved to laugh and get others to feel comfortable in my presence and be themselves and laugh and have a great time also! I've always been myself and didn't put on a false facade! I just want them to remember me as I will remember them! :) I remember mom taking me home from Girl Scouts at Jefferson Grade School. As we turned from Northway Ln. to Vista Dr. and got about two houses past the corner, some neighbor kids said, "Mrs. Danner, Rick just got hit by a 7Up truck on Rowe Dr."! (Rick being my younger brother 7 yrs. younger than me) The horror and shock that my little brother was badly injured or dead was FRIGHTENING! We got home and pulled into the driveway and Rick came up on his bicycle! It was his best friend, Tim Romani, whom I babysat for & one of Rick's best friends that got hit by that truck. We were SO upset Timmy got hit & injured & worried about him. Everyone was crying & we went to his house to see if there was anything they needed or wanted us to do.
