Nancy's Story
What did I do after high school?Started college, got married and traveled for the next 20 years with my husband in the Air Force. During that 20 years, I went to college and had 4 kids. When Wayne retired from the AF in 1993, 3 of our 4 parents had passed away, my mother was the only one left, so we 'settled' in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she was living to reconnect with family. That's where we remain at this time. My oldest child, Casey, is married and has 5 children. . .he is 32, and lives fairly close. We waited 10 years after having Casey before we had any more children. So my other 3 are much younger. There is Megan, she is 22 and has just graduated from college with her degree in Political Science last May. Then she went to England for the summer. Now she is going to have to decide what she wants to do as an adult. Like get a real job or go on to grad school. Molly is next, she's 19, she is a sophmore at the University of Arkansas. Molly is a very diverse child--she hasn't decided on a major yet but she is playing in the Razorback marching band, she plays tenor sax (this was a given, she was the drum major for the high school band her senoir year)--she also plays the bag pipes in another little local band. She sings, she writes music and short stories, she loves to travel and she loves all animals. Lastly we have Patrick, he has just turned 17, he is a junior in high school...Expand for more
. He is in the high school band (plays trombone), runs track, both cross country and track and field and plays basketball. The kid is always busy.If and when he's at home, he's a video game addict and I have never seen anyone that text message as fast as he does! Or as much! The kids still take up a lot of my time. Believe it or not, I go to rock concerts with the girls and survive the mosh pits! Besides kids--I work part time as an RN in the busiest ER in the state. It is definitely an interesting and demanding job. I travel every chance I get! I am a very prolific photographer and have considered giving up nursing and doing that professionally but. . .I don't 'change' very quickly any more. I love to hike with my dogs and family when it's cool in the fall and spring--I don't tolerate heat well so I stay inside if I'm not in the pool all summer. My dogs are another of my great interests--I have 3 welch pembrooke corgis, the are adorable short dogs and make me happy. There's not much else to tell--Wayne and I are about to have our 36th anniversary. We don't do too much very exciting any more except travel. I do have a face book where I have literally thousands of photos posted--you can see what I do with my time.
I admit, when I got on here, I recognized a lot of the names but I was having trouble putting faces with them--I had to drag out the old year book and start looking everyone up!
