Nancy's Story
Hello from Belton, Missouri which is on the outskirts of Kansas City. I've lived here since 1990 so at this point I am probably a Midwesterner for life. My husband Ted passed away in 2006 but our 2 very adult children and therefore my 3 grandchildren live in this area. I'm happily retired, but have decided the lazy picture of retirement will never be in my future. If the kids don't keep me busy (and I do ask for that to happen), the family are soccer fans and therefore attend every SportingKC home game. Because of Ted I'm a member of the local Sons of Norway Lodge and will perhaps be treasurer of the group until I can no longer balance a checkbook. The rest of my days are filled with gardening and needlework when I'm not traveling. ved in the Phillippines, Scotland, Virginia Beach, Vallejo, Sioux Falls SD and now Missouri. I can't say no when my kids ask if I want to join in on family vacations and also have my mother-in-law in Tucson and eldest granddaughter, a senior at the University of Tampa to visit. I've taken the 2 grandaughters to Alaska, chaperoned a high school group going to Australia, and am looking forward to a cruise to Australia and New Zealand early next year with a group of close friends.
I do miss San Francisco and often think I should make plans to head that direction. The 40th class reunion was wonderful and I hope a 50th will be planned. In the meantime, I wouldn't turn down invitations to visit. And perhaps I'll get motivated soon to head that way. But I do also enjoy my time at home and am getting old enough to need some rest between wanderings!! And it's not as if I could hide my age from classmates...
